WooCommerce Integration
Connect your WooCommerce store to enable live product search, order lookups, cart display, and category browsing from your AI agent. The primary connection method uses WooCommerce's built-in REST API with an OAuth handshake, so no plugin is required for that path. An optional WordPress connector plugin is also available as an alternative or complementary connection method — see Optional: WordPress connector plugin below.
Prerequisites
- •WooCommerce 3.5 or later.
- •WordPress site served over HTTPS — the WooCommerce REST API requires a valid SSL certificate.
- •WordPress permalinks set to Post name (go to WordPress Admin → Settings → Permalinks, select Post name, and save).
- •The store must be publicly accessible — AIChatVault's servers need to reach your WooCommerce REST API endpoint.
Connecting via OAuth (recommended)

Connecting manually (fallback)
If the OAuth redirect cannot reach AIChatVault (e.g. your store is on a local network, behind a firewall, or the OAuth callback fails), use the manual connection method:
- •In WooCommerce Admin, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- •Click Add Key. Set Description to "AIChatVault", User to an admin account, and Permissions to Read/Write.
- •Click Generate API Key and copy both the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
- •On the WooCommerce integration page in AIChatVault, expand the Manual connection form and enter your store URL, Consumer Key, and Consumer Secret.

Optional: WordPress connector plugin
Alongside the OAuth/REST API connection above, AIChatVault also offers a downloadable WordPress plugin that pairs with your integration from inside WordPress Admin. It's optional — the store already works fully once connected via OAuth or a manual REST API key — but it adds a couple of things the REST API path doesn't cover on its own:
- •Download the plugin from the WooCommerce integration page and install it like any other WordPress plugin, then use the Pair button on the integration page to link it — it opens your WP Admin with a short-lived pairing token that the plugin claims automatically.
- •Once paired, the plugin sends a periodic heartbeat so AIChatVault can confirm it's active and report its version.
- •It exposes GDPR-compliant data export and erasure endpoints, so requests submitted through WordPress's built-in Privacy tools (Tools → Export/Erase Personal Data) also cover conversations and action logs stored in AIChatVault for that customer's email address.
Widget embed code
Unlike Shopify, the WooCommerce integration does not auto-inject the chat widget. Copy the widget snippet from the integration page and paste it into your WordPress theme — typically just before the closing </body> tag in your theme's footer.php, or use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers" to add it site-wide without editing theme files.
Product sync
After connecting, AIChatVault syncs your WooCommerce product catalogue to the knowledge base. Use the Sync Products button on the integration page to trigger a manual sync at any time — useful after adding new products or making significant catalogue changes.
Disconnecting WooCommerce
Clicking Disconnect removes the integration and clears synced products from the knowledge base. The agent will no longer answer product or order questions from WooCommerce data. The API key you created in WooCommerce remains unless you delete it manually from WooCommerce Admin → REST API.
